There’s no place like home. Home is where we bring up our families, socialize with friends, our own space where we can unwind, and take refuge from the rest of the world. Home is where we spend most of our time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted that many Nova Scotian’s don’t have a safe, affordable place to call home. Nova Scotia is in the midst of an affordable housing crisis and we need to create more affordable housing options.
Despite pandemic pressures, Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia we will see families in Spryfield, Oxford, Stellarton, Cape Breton and Kentville have a safe, affordable place to live over the next year. This is just the start of the impact we want to make in the affordable housing crisis in Nova Scotia.
All proceeds raised will go directly towards building safe, affordable homes. A Habitat home is a stabilizing force for a family, better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health, stronger childhood development and the ability — and financial flexibility — to make forward-looking choices.
Our Down Home Kitchen Party will run from 6-8pm on Saturday, June 19th, 2021. A $100 ticket will get you a ready to cook food bag that includes all the ingredients to cook dinner for two along with beer from New Scotland Brewing Co. to wash it all down. Chef Live – Richard Julien will guide you through how to cook your meal over Zoom. You will be entertained by Jon Cyr. To keep the event running smoothly Paul Brothers from Global News will be there every step of the way to keep us entertained and make sure we don’t burn anything.
