Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia and the Pictou County Chapter broke ground on the Poplar Street project on May 5, 2022. Since then, numerous volunteer teams and individuals have dedicated time on the site alongside members of the Pictou County Chapter to finish Pictou County’s first Habitat home.
Established in 2018, The Pictou County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia was formed to address the growing need for affordable housing in Pictou County Communities. The Pictou County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity was generously gifted a piece of land by the Town of Stellarton in 2019, which became the site of the first Habitat home in Pictou County.
The ReStore is a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials and home décor items. Proceeds from The ReStore help fund Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia.
