For over 30 years, Joel Plaskett has been a constant force in Canadian music, known for his ever-evolving sound and deep Nova Scotian roots. From fronting Thrush Hermit to releasing acclaimed solo albums and leading The Emergency, his work spans lo-fi folk, riff-heavy rock, and genre-bending concept records like Ashtray Rock and 44. He’s played stages from Massey Hall to international festivals, earning JUNO and ECMA nods along the way. At home in Dartmouth, he runs Fang Recording and hosts Window Inn Wednesdays, a monthly show celebrating connection through music, community, and creativity.
Originally from Moncton, NB, Robb Wells was raised in Dartmouth, NS, where he still resides. He’s best known as Ricky in the hit series Trailer Park Boys, and has written, directed, and produced many of its titles. In 2013, Wells and co-stars John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith bought the show rights and launched Swearnet, later partnering with Netflix to create new content including Trailer Park Boys: Jail and Park After Dark. His acting credits include Hudson & Rex, Diggstown, Dawn Her Dad & the Tractor, Boondock Saints II, and Vandits. He currently stars in and produces the new comedy series The Trades.
Dave Gunning & J.P. Cormier are two of Canada’s most respected roots singer-songwriters and longtime friends whose musical bond spans over two decades. Their debut duo album Two strips things down to the essentials: two guitars, two voices, and a lifetime of shared stories. From original songs to reimagined folk classics and heartfelt covers, Two showcases their unmatched musicianship, sibling-like harmonies and deep camaraderie. Recorded live-off-the-floor in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, this collaboration is raw, honest and powerful — a must-see performance from two masters at the top of their game.
Kevin Kane (The Grapes of Wrath) and Bryan Potvin (The Northern Pikes) have shaped the soundtrack of Canadian rock since the ’80s, earning a JUNO Award, five nominations, and multiple gold and platinum records between them. Their duo show features beloved hits like She Ain’t Pretty, All the Things I Wasn’t, and Kiss Me You Fool, plus songs from their acclaimed 2016 album Kane & Potvin. What began as a casual jam after a chance meeting in a Toronto guitar shop grew into a creative partnership that continues to evolve. Now also bandmates in The Northern Pikes, the two bring decades of songwriting and electric chemistry to the stage.

At Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia, we believe everyone deserves a safe, decent and affordable place to call home. Since 1992, we’ve partnered with individuals and families across the province to help build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.
We don’t give away homes—we offer a hand up, not a handout. Through partnerships with volunteers, donors and community organizations, Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
Our impact goes beyond the build site. The Habitat ReStore in Dartmouth offers a sustainable way to shop and donate for good—supporting our work while keeping usable items out of landfills. And with the launch of our Habitat Home RePair program, we’re helping low-income homeowners stay safely and comfortably in their existing homes by providing critical repairs.
Together, we’re helping families in Nova Scotia build a strong foundation for a brighter future.
