Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia. We have several volunteer opportunities across the province, so be sure to check them out!

**Please note that you must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer on our build site and/or in our ReStore. If you are 16 or 17 years old you will need your parent/guardian to sign a youth waiver. Please contact volunteer@habitatns.ca to get this waiver**

ReStore Volunteer

Join the ReStore Team

The ReStore is a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials and home décor items. Proceeds from the ReStore fund Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia, which constructs Habitat homes for hard-working low income families in the Province. Supporting the ReStore supports deserving families to achieve the dream of affordable housing.

We have two ReStore locations:

  • ReStore Dartmouth is located at 81 Wright Avenue in Dartmouth and is open 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Saturday.
Available positions include: driver, cashier and customer service assistant.
  • ReStore Halifax (Now Open!) is located at 127 Chain Lake Drive in Halifax and is open 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday and 9:00am – 5:00pm on Saturday. Closed Sunday.
Available positions include: cashier and customer service assistant.

Corporate Groups

Habitat Build Day

Spending a day on a Habitat for Humanity NS build site is a great way for your corporate group, sports team, faith community, school or organization to help improve access to affordable housing for those in our community. It is also a chance for your group to work together in a new environment – an excellent opportunity to build team and leadership skills. By participating in a team build, you can make a difference in the lives of families in need of a “Hand Up”, not a “Hand Out”.
Please contact build@habitatns.ca for more information.
