On Saturday, December 3, we welcomed members from the Amherst Adult Hockey Team on site to help out with siding. While it was cold and messy weather, they still battled through and made some significant progress on the exterior of the home.
As we enter the Holiday season, construction staff and volunteers are currently working on exterior siding and plan to seal up the second home for the Winter and re-open the build site to complete the home for next Summer.
“Blitz Build” makes great progress on second Oxford Home
On Tuesday, September 20, the Habitat for Humanity NS Oxford Project welcomed more than 45 members from the Manufactured Housing Association of Atlantic Canada (MHAAC) to the build site on Little River Road to kickoff the Blitz Build: a high-energy day where the volunteers from MHAAC and their supporters came together to take the second home in Oxford from foundation to roof-tight in less than 24 hours. They also helped complete the first floor of what will eventually be the third out of the ten home development to be completed on the corner of Little River Road and Lower Main Street.
The result was both fun and highly-productive, as members of the MHAAC worked together to make sure this family’s home will be complete shortly after the Holiday season.
Thank you to all of those who came out to spend their time on site – we are lucky to have you as supporters.
